Training Information
All training is undertaken by the East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS). The initial course covers two days usually over two separate weekends, and includes basic first aid, the use of the defibrilator and oxygen equipment.
All volunteers must undergo the initial EMAS training, whatever their previous first aid / medical background.
After the initial training all responders must undergo refresher training and re-assessment every six months and we as a group try to provide in-house practice sessions between EMAS training.
Training of new volunteers takes place when we have between 8 and 10 interested people and is usually held at a local venue in Southwell.
