Area Covered

The area that the Group responds to covers Southwell (Nottinghamshire, England) and the surrounding villages - the size of the area being determined by the time take to travel to an incident

The role of the group is to respond to certain types of calls when the local ambulances are not available. The ambulance would be expected to reach these incidents within 8 minutes. We would therefore only be expected to travel for a maximum time of 8 minutes, less the time taken to answer the call at EMAS control. It is estimated that we could travel a distance of around 8Km (5 miles) in this time, and this distance is measured in a straight line from Southwell Minster - the attached map is for illustration purposes only

We nominally cover the following towns and villages but, depending on circumstances, we may end up going to any of the places in the highlighted area on the map below.

Southwell, Upton, Rolleston, Fiskerton, Morton, Normanton, Hockerton, Halam, Edingly, Thurgarton, Bleasby, Rolleston, Averham
